Today we did a bit of role playing to teach one of Christ's parables from Luke 14:7-11. I had several volunteers pretend to be attending a wedding. The Father of the Bride (Jordan) invited the guests in one by one and instructed them to take a seat. There were several seats to choose from...one being a soft, comfortable chair. One by one the guests came in, but none of them took the best seat. They reserved it for the last guest, the king (McKay). I had to make some last minute adjustments as I saw my plan wasn't working out the way I wanted it to. (I had hoped they would all fight over the best seat!) It was a little jumbled but worked out....however, the bottom line was all of our volunteers already knew how to be humble and had respect for someone in authority...what Christ was trying to teach in his parable. My heart was full as I saw these wonderful students again display their Christlike actions!
